About the Artist

Tim Goss is a Texas artist working in Graphite pencil from his studio in Bosque County, Texas. He has won awards at every level of competition from local and regional shows to prestigious national and international exhibits.  In 2018, Tim was named “Emerging Artist of the Year” at the “ART COMES ALIVE!” awards in Cincinnatti, Ohio. In 2019 he was named “Honorable Mention for Excellence in Drawing” by the international judges of the “Paid Artist Art Show”. His artwork has been displayed in museums, galleries, and exhibitions around the world, not to mention a few un-prestigious feed stores back in the day…

Tim began drawing after suffering a Traumatic Brain Injury in 2010. In constant pain and occassional bouts of vertigo and nausea, he laid in bed in a darkened room twenty hours a day. He lost a lot of cognitive functioning and was unable to care for himself. Doctors felt that not being able to retain information long enough to convert it to long term memory, that he was essentially unable to ‘learn’ anything new. Another side effect of his injury was a palsy-like trembling in his right hand. It was suggested (by his sister, an Occupational Therapist) that drawing might help his muscle memory, and grip strength. He began to draw and the results were a far cry from the last time he drew something, which was fourth grade. Over the next two years he spent more and more time drawing and less and less time bed ridden. Tim entered a local art show and won 1st and 2nd place in his category. He began to recieve inquiries about how much he would charge to do commission pieces. Tim turned professional three years after his injury. While he has not fully recovered, he has gained a new life beyond anything he could have imagined.
